Performance
Two powertrains are offered for the new Grand Cherokee model. There's a 293-hp 3.6-liter V6 and a turbocharged 2.0-liter 375 horsepower plug-in-hybrid. The hybrid uses all-wheel drive, and the V6 has rear-wheel drive. Though all-wheel drive is optional for the V6.
When tested, it was found that the V6 with rear-wheel drive had a fuel economy of about 19 mpg city and 26 mpg highway. While all-wheel drive models dropped those numbers by one for an estimated 18/25 mpg. As for the plug-in hybrid, the EPA estimates the Grand Cherokee offers 23 mpg city and 24 mpg highway. With its 14.0-kWh battery pack, the plug-in hybrid also has about 26 miles of electric-only driving.
Design
The exterior of the Grand Cherokee has a rugged aesthetic, as you might expect. But the interior will surprise you. New Milford drivers can't stop talking about the more updated and modernized cabin and its added essential features. Drivers especially love the more luxurious amenities offered in the higher trims, like the leather upholstery, open-pore wood trim, and high-tech digital displays.
Technology

In higher trims, shoppers can get a digital gauge cluster, a 10.0-inch head-up display, and a second 10.3-inch display to control the climate settings and other features. A six-speaker stereo is standard, though a nine-speaker Alpine stereo and a 19-speaker McIntosh sound system are available.

Limited: The Limited offers the same features as the Loredo, along with more advanced tech like a 10.1-inch central touchscreen, a navigation system, and a terrain-based drive mode system.
Trailhawk: For the ultimate off-road experience, the Trailhawk has you covered. Equipped with a plug-in hybrid powertrain and all-wheel drive, there are also features like all-terrain tires, hill ascent and descent control, front tow hooks, and a nine-speaker Alpine audio system.
Overland: Mixing the luxury features of the Loredo with the rugged amenities of the Trailhawk. Added features include a hands-free liftgate, a panoramic sunroof, and ambient cabin lighting.
Summit: This top-level trim offering features from all the other trims along with a wood-trimmed steering wheel, a front-seat massage function, an Active Driving Assist system, and an automated parking system.
